A little exploration of Logic Pro for iPad. I rebuilt it and tried a way to guide Session Players by drawing how the song should feel.

A great band, one knob at a time
Session Players turn a rough idea into a full band fast. Shaping them across a song meant adjusting intensity and complexity region by region. With Apple Pencil in hand, I saw a chance to sketch the song’s arc instead.
What I explored
Draw the feel, the band follows
I prototyped two ways to draw in Smart Controls. Draw an Energy line and the drums and bass build with it into the chorus. Sketch a melody and the bass plays it back in key. My recommendation: let people draw what they mean, so shaping a whole song takes one gesture.
