Made for Weather

A little exploration of the Apple Weather home screen. I rebuilt it and tried a way to turn the forecast into a plan for your day, not just a set of numbers.

What I experienced

A great forecast, and nothing to do with it

Weather tells me everything about the sky: rain until 8 PM, 11°, gusts up to 18 mph. But it stops there. I was reading the conditions and still working out on my own what the afternoon was actually good for.

What I explored

Let the weather suggest the moment

I prototyped suggestions that appear when you long-press the temperature: ideas matched to the conditions and the time of day, like a window-seat read on a rainy fall afternoon or a seawall ride at a summer sunset. My recommendation: keep it inline and quiet, right next to the hourly forecast, so a suggestion feels like part of the weather rather than an ad for an activity.
